• Hebrew people were the first MONOTHEISTS
• They believed in a God called YAHWEH
• YAHWEH spoke to ABRAHAM
• ABRAHAM was told to go from Ur to Canaan (today
  this is Israel)
• ABRAHAMS descendants are known as Jews, and they
  practice JUDAISM

• Jesus was JEWISH
• Born in Bethlehem, which was in Palestine today
  known as Israel
• His story is told in the BIBLE
• Jesus was believed to be the MESSIAH
• Today, a small number of CHRISTIANS live in the
  Middle East

Muhammad, The Prophet of Islam

• Muhammad was born in Mecca, S.A.
• Born 600 years after Jesus death
• At the age of 40, Muhammad had his first
  conversation with the angel Gabriel
• For 22 years, the conversations continued
• The Quran or Koran tells of the stories told to
  Muhammad
