Think of world cultures as many rivers.
Rivers sometimes flow into each other. This is
called a confluence.
Cultures do the same thing. Many cultures
co-exist in all regions of the world.

Sometimes these cultures exist peacefully,

and sometimes they come into conflict.

The Middle East is one area where several
cultures exist because...
the Middle East spans parts of Europe, Africa and
Asia.
Christianity, Islam, and Judaism all have their
roots in the Middle East.
