The Truman Doctrine and containment
  • Truman stated that the USA will assist any
    country trying to resist attempted subjugation.
  • Truman vows to engage in a policy of
    Containment stating that the USA will not
    sacrifice 1 inch of land to the communist
    agressors.
  • The US practices this policy through the end of
    the cold war.
