  • 5 students took O level in 2007 with 3
    achieving distinction 2 B3

  • Since 2007, O level Economics is offered to
    Secondary 3 Express and Normal (Academic)
    students
  • Lessons were conducted after curriculum time in
    2006 to 2007

    curriculum time
  • Results of 2008 O level were very promising

  • Understand the economic situation of various
    countries
  • Substitute each countrys weakness with other
    countrys strength for each countrys development

  • Gain an experience of barter trade as well as
    understand demand and supply in real life
  • Create interest and discussion about the world
    trading system in an enjoyable and non-academic
    way

Reflections
  • As representatives of a country, we had to
    practice some governing principles, like being
    forward looking
  • This could be done by collaborating, setting up
    agreements with other countries for later rounds

Reflections
  • We could see from real life situations why barter
    trade is not an efficient way to obtain what we
    need
  • In this game, we had to apply concepts we learnt
    in economics, such as demand and supply, barter
    trade, etc

Financial Literacy Carnival
  • Promote financial literacy amongst students and
    adults
  • A variety of activities including a skit on money
    management, a financial education amazing race
    and Praxis Board games
