Objectives

• to prepare for and provide service to
  negotiations on financial resources and mechanism
• to identify additional finance for environment
  from foreign and private sources and promote
  access to these sources
• to develop partnership with funding institutions
  and development agencies
• to assist the developing country Parties in
  managing their public biodiversity expenditure
  better
• to promote development and application of
  innovative financial instruments at local,
  regional and national levels
• to raise funds for supporting wider participation
  in the Convention process
