  • This tax is often collected by government, yet
when there is no governmental system that
regulate it, this tax should be performed by the
Muslim community on their own. Beside this, all
Moslems are encouraged to give to the poor

Punishment for those who does not pay Zakat
According to Abu Hurairaih, Rasulullah SAW
said,"Whoever granted by Allah wealth yet does
not give out the zakat, on the judgement day, he
will be visited by a very poisonous and scary
bald male snake with 2 dots above its eyes, which
wrap and bite his neck and shouts, " I am your
wealth, I am your wealth that you accumulated in
the past" (Hadith Bukhari) In another Hadith,
Rasulullah SAW said, "Owner of gold or silver who
does not fulfil his obligation, the gold and
silver on the day of judgement will be made into
ironing tool, which is heated up by the fire of
hell, and then rubbed to his rub, face and back
for 50 thousand years, until complete the
calculation with other people, to see if he will
enter heaven or hell. And owner of cow or goat
who does not fulfil his obligation, then on
judgement day, those animals will be trampling
and barging on him, as soon as one finish,
another will come to do the same until finish the
calculation with others, to see if he enter
heaven or hell." (HR Muslim)
