What is a Circuit Master? Circuit Master is a
highly sophisticated band pass filter that blocks
distortions in electrical power above and below
the normal signal range. Circuit Master
combines these filters that block out harmonic
distortions, power spikes and surges, with line
filter capacitors to improve power factor, all in
one unique package.

The Circuit Master product covers a wide range
of voltage uses from single phase 120 vac to
three phase 600 vac system. Although most
industrial applications are rated for three phase
480 vac, all three phase units are rated for
voltage to the components at 600 vac. These
surge/lighting protection units respond to surge
and static electrical events in less than 20 nano
seconds, and provide up to 120k amps of line
protection at the standard 8/20 u sec rating for
three phase and at least 60k amps protection for
single phase on the same scale.

Circuit Master comes in 20 plus different sizes
so it can be quickly and efficiently installed to
meet the specific needs of your equipment.
Circuit Master forces current to better fit the
60 cycle AC Sine wave. This is ideal for any
equipment that uses induction power such as
motors, pumps or fluorescent ballasts. Anything
that uses winding or requires a magnetic field to
operate. As a result, equipment will run more
smoothly and efficiently. Equipment will draw
less power and the life span will be increased
while routine maintenance costs will decrease.

Circuit Master SAVES YOU MONEY by reducing energy
costs, Lowering Power Factor Demand Charges from
electric utilities and cutting equipment costs
thru extended life cycle and reduced
maintenance. Each Circuit Master is fitted to a
particular application based on the Kvars that
the appliance uses. There are two types of
current , Active current or Kilo Watts and
Reactive current or Kvars, This reactive current
is measured in kilovars. The active current is
usually drawn from the electric company. The
electric company can also supply enough power for
the kvars but it is expensive and results in
higher demand charges. This is where Circuit
master can help!

Kvars are the part of energy that creates a
magnetic field that is required to make an
inductive load to work. Creating this field is
required for motors, or any inductive load to
operate. Motor start ups require a great deal of
energy. Circuit Master helps supply that start up
energy. The Circuit master stores energy in a
series of electrolytic capacitors within its
circuitry. This stored energy is used to create
the magnetic field that is necessary to operate
motors or any electrical item that utilizes a
winding such as motors, pumps, compressors and
lighting ballasts etc. By utilizing the stored
energy there is less of a demand on the power or
utility company. Less demand means lower
electric bills and a reduction in energy usage,
carbon and thus saves our natural resources..

Why use a Circuit Master? Energy costs are
skyrocketing due to increased customer
requirements, limited capacity and increasing
fuel prices. The energy grid in the USA and the
world is over taxed. As more third world
countries use electric power the demand increases
and the supply is limited. Most energy is
created by burning natural resources such as oil,
coal and natural gas. Burning fossil fuels
creates CO2 or carbon footprint. CO2 stays with
us forever. Most electric utilities now charge
customers a "demand fee", which is a surcharge
for using excess power. This fee is a result of
low power factor that comes from inefficiencies
in inductive load equipment. Circuit Master can

next 10 years as mandated by Executive Order

  • Harmonic distortion is caused by equipment that
    are non-linear loads. These loads use current in
    a pulsing manner and at times feed harmonic
    currents back into the wiring. In non-linear
    loads, the current waveform is different from the
    applied voltage waveform.

Circuit provides critical high level surge
suppression A surge protector (or surge
suppressor) is an appliance designed to protect
electrical devices from voltage spikes. A surge
protector attempts to regulate the voltage
supplied to an electric device by either blocking
or by shorting to ground voltages above a safe
threshold. The surge protection features of the
Circuit Master protects expensive electrical
equipment from surges and spikes and keeps
equipment operating at their peak efficiency.
No other line conditioning product performs all
of the functions a Circuit Master delivers.

Getting Started The first thing that is
necessary is to determine the actual Kvars
necessary to start a certain piece of equipment.
For example a chiller or refrigeration unit in a
building. Kvars are measured using a piece of
specialized equipment that can measure, voltage,
amperage and kvars. We build and or fit your
Circuit Master based on the information gathered
during this brief visit from our electrician
partner. We always try to treat 80-83 of the
Kvars used. If multiple pieces of equipment
are used with one Circuit Master then we use the
kvar requirements from the smallest equipment on
that disconnect. Over treating a circuit is
equally as detrimental as not treating the
circuit at all.

At this point we do some electrical calculations
to determine the unit that best suits your needs.
Please keep in mind the circuit master must be
within 60 feet of the appliance to operate
effectively. The model Circuit Master is
determined and shipped to the location or the
electrician performing the installation.

We place another piece of equipment on the
appliance. This is a measuring device that keeps
track and measures how much energy is being used
during a specified length of time by the
appliance. Basically to measure your before
Circuit Master performance. We like to keep this
in place for a few days so we can get accurate
measurements. Circuit master guarantees a 10
reduction in your energy usage.

Once we receive your Circuit Master from our
electrical shop we have it installed. At that
time we will again measure your energy usage for
several days or up to a week. This will give you
an absolute measured accurate energy saving
profile while we have the Circuit Master
installed. Most times a 1 year ROI is achieved
on Circuit Masters. The lifespan of a Circuit
master is 17 years. You have nothing to lose
except high energy bills.

The following is a actual example of a Circuit
Master in action. This was sent to me from the
installer, Rep on the job. If you want to speak
to this man, it may be arranged.  I was given
the task to treat a 50 ton HVAC unit on the roof
of a two story brick building in Ashburn, Va.   I
Installed an Emon Dmon KWH meter to establish a
base line and ran the HVAC unit for 48 hours to
get a reading. Used 491 kwh. 10.229 per
hour.   Then installed a properly sized Circuit
Master, and ran the HVAC unit again. This time
the reading was 306 kwh.  38 reduction where I
went to school. Or 6.375 per hour.   The client
wanted more run time.  So we cleared the meter
and left Circuit Master on but failed to get
electrician back to client until 10 days had
passed and 1571 kwh had accumulated on kwh meter.
(this is with Circuit Master on).   This time we
took the run time and divided it into the energy
usage and got a usage rate of 5.57 kwh per hour.
And it was noted that this was during the hotter
days when more of the compressors ran.   I took
the Circuit Master off and ran the HVAC unit with
just the kwh meter on. Registered 429 kwh in 52
hours or a usage rate of 8.25 kwh per hour.  I
think that when compared to the time when the
Circuit Master was installed, this equates to a
reduction of 33.    You can take your pick but
I think these results speak for themselves. This
is typical of many installations done with the
Circuit Master.
