Absence Plan
1
- Plans allow for a two-tiered setup, including a
higher level plan that can have multiple plan
structures. The Plan set-up defines general
characteristics of a plan, whereas the Plan
Structures define the processing rules that apply
to a group of employees. This example shows a
cycle-based plan that allows for auto enrollment
based on an employee meeting certain group
criteria.

Plan Structures are Plans Within a Plan
1
Plan Structures are tied to a single Lawson
Employee Group and offer more flexibility in
determining rules for accruing balances,
eligibility or usage, and how limits are placed
on balances. This eliminates the need to create a
separate plan for each employee grouping. This
screen shows an Plan Structure for a vacation
plan with accruals based on hours.

Employee Absence Plan Master
1
The Employee Absence Plan Master holds all
critical absence and date information for an
employee or an employee within a specific
position. Note that you can override virtually
any field. You can also set an accrual end date
as well as a master end date, allowing employees
to stop accruing but remain active in the plan
for balance usage.

Allotment Adjustment Calculation
1
Allotments, a new feature of Absence Management,
allow you to offer lump-sum balances for FTO or
PTO plans. As shown here, you can grant paid time
off at the beginning of a plan year and then
adjust an employees allotted amount based on
actual hours worked or a mid-year change in
status from part-time to full-time.

Employee Leave of Absence
Tracking and determining eligibility for leaves
of absence, such as Family Medical Leave Act or
Emergency leaves, is now possible. Dates of
leave, correspondence regarding the leave and
type of leave (intermittent or continuous) are
managed in a single consolidated leave of absence
record. This allows you move away from using
multiple spreadsheets to track leave of absence
data for compliance reporting.

The calendar year can now begin on the date you
choose, giving you a rolling 12-month calendar
for federal or emergency leave tracking. Lawson
also provides programs to help you determine
employee eligibility for federal or emergency
leaves.

General Ledger Rule
1
The General Ledger Rule gives you more
flexibility integrating with other Lawson
systems. In this example, you can see how Absence
Management allows you to post all or partial GL
liabilities incrementally or as auto-reversing
transactions. You even have the option of posting
to the Activities Management system.

Pay Code
1
The Service Code ties to the Lawson Payroll pay
code, but is now independent of the Lawson
payroll application. The link between Absence
Management and Payroll makes processing easy.
However, you no longer need to run both together.

Company holidays and the vacation accrual rate
are managed in this interface. Proper accrual is
automatically applied to all employees within the
group on a chosen date, and there is no longer a
need to program exceptions for holiday pay.

Employee Absence Plan Transfer
1
When employees transfer positions or transition
between full-time and part-time employment,
changing their vacation plan is simple. You can
transfer them to a different plan, and you also
have the option of overriding any specific areas,
as needed. Transfers can be executed
individually, by group and even during the
processing cycle.
