Title: SOUL WINNING WISDOM

1
SOUL WINNING WISDOM
  • PROVERBS 1130 TEXT
  • The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life
and he who wins souls is wise

2
SOUL WINNING WISDOM
  • WHAT IS THE VALUE OF A SOUL?
  • ROM. 56-8 For when we were still without
strength, in due time Christ died for the
ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will
one die yet perhaps for a good man someone would
even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own
love toward us, in that while we were still
    sinners, Christ died for us.
  • JN. 316 For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him should not perish but have everlasting
    life.

SOUL WINNING WISDOM
  • DOES GOD VALUE A SOUL WINNER?
  • JAMES 519-20 Brethren, if anyone among you
wanders from the truth, and someone turns him
back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner
from the error of his way will save a soul from
death and cover a multitude of sins.
  • REV. 218 But the cowardly, unbelieving,
    abominable, murderers, sexually immoral,
sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have
their part in the lake which burns with fire and
brimstone, which is the second death.

SOUL WINNING WISDOM
  • WHAT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY?
  • HEB. 512-14 For though by this time you ought
to be teachers, you need someone to teach you
again the first principles of the oracles of God
and you have come to need milk and not solid
food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk
is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he
is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who
are of full age, that is, those who by reason of
use have their senses exercised to discern both
    good and evil.

5
SOUL WINNING WISDOM
  • WE MUST DENY SELF
  • MATT. 1624-26 Then Jesus said to His
disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and
follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his
life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for
My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to
a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his
own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for
    his soul?

DEDICATION
  • 2 TIM. 18-12 Therefore do not be ashamed of
the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His
prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for
the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who
has saved us and called us with a holy calling,
not according to our works, but according to His
own purpose and grace which was given to us in
Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now
been revealed by the appearing of our Savior
Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought
life and immortality to light through the gospel,
11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an
apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12 For
this reason I also suffer these things
nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I
have believed and am persuaded that He is able to
keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

7
IDENTIFICATION
  • PHIL. 25-12 Let this mind be in you which was
also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of
God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with
God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking
the form of a bondservant, and coming in the
likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance
as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient
to the point of death, even the death of the
cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted
Him and given Him the name which is above every
name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on
earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that
every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

8
VERIFICATION
  • 1 THESS. 13-10 remembering without ceasing
your work of faith, labor of love, and patience
of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of
our God and Father, 4 knowing, beloved brethren,
your election by God. 5 For our gospel did not
come to you in word only, but also in power, and
in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you
know what kind of men we were among you for your
sake. 6 And you became followers of us and of the
Lord, having received the word in much
affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so
that you became examples to all in Macedonia and
Achaia who believe. 8 For from you the word of
the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia
and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith
toward God has gone out, so that we do not need
to say anything. 9 For they themselves declare
concerning us what manner of entry we had to you,
and how you turned to God from idols to serve the
living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son
from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even
Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

9
VERIFICATION
  • COL. 31-2 If then you were raised with
Christ, seek those things which are above, where
Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2
Set your mind on things above, not on things on
    the earth.

10
INVESTIGATION
  • 2 TIM. 215 - Be diligent to present yourself
approved to God, a worker who does not need to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
  • PSA. 119129-136 Your testimonies are
wonderful Therefore my soul keeps them. 130 The
entrance of Your words gives light It gives
understanding to the simple. 131 I opened my
mouth and panted, For I longed for Your
commandments. 132 Look upon me and be merciful to
me, As Your custom is toward those who love Your
name. 133 Direct my steps by Your word, And let
no iniquity have dominion over me. 134 Redeem me
from the oppression of man, That I may keep Your
precepts. 135 Make Your face shine upon Your
servant, And teach me Your statutes. 136 Rivers
of water run down from my eyes, Because men do
    not keep Your law.

11
INVESTIGATION
  • LUKE 246-47 Now so it was that after three
days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the
midst of the teachers, both listening to them and
asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him
were astonished at His understanding and
    answers.
  • 1 PET. 315 But sanctify the Lord God in your
hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to
everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that
is in you, with meekness and fear

12
CERTIFICATION
  • COL. 13-8 We give thanks to the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always
for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ
Jesus and of your love for all the saints 5
because of the hope which is laid up for you in
heaven, of which you heard before in the word of
the truth of the gospel, 6 which has come to you,
as it has also in all the world, and is bringing
forth fruit, as it is also among you since the
day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth
7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear
fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of
Christ on your behalf, 8 who also declared to us
    your love in the Spirit.

13
CERTIFICATION
  • COL. 412 Epaphras, who is one of you, a
bondservant of Christ, greets you, always
laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you
may stand perfect and complete in all the will of
    God.

14
CONVERSATION
  • JAMES 313-18 - Who is wise and understanding
among you? Let him show by good conduct that his
works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But
if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your
hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but
is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy
and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil
thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from
above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle,
willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now
the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by
    those who make peace.

15
MAGNIFICATION
  • PHIL. 18-11 And this I pray, that your love
may abound still more and more in knowledge and
all discernment, 10 that you may approve the
things that are excellent, that you may be
sincere and without offense till the day of
Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of
righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the
    glory and praise of God.

16
MAGNIFICATION
  • PHIL. 120-21 according to my earnest
expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be
ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now
also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether
by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is
Christ, and to die is gain.

17
REGENERATION
  • TITUS 33-8 For we ourselves were also once
    foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various
lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy,
hateful and hating one another. 4 But when the
kindness and the love of God our Savior toward
man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to His mercy He
saved us, through the washing of regeneration and
renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out
on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 that having been justified by His grace we
should become heirs according to the hope of
eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and
these things I want you to affirm constantly,
that those who have believed in God should be
careful to maintain good works. These things are
    good and profitable to men.

18
REGENERATION
  • GAL. 61 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in
any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such
a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering
yourself lest you also be tempted.

19
