His Life!
  • His full name was Pythagoras. He was born in
Samos Island, 570 b.c. He Metempsychosis.
(believed in reincarnation.) Growing up math was
his most strongest skill. When he had gotten
older he contributed his life to math. At the age
of 18 he left and moved to Miletus. He died at
the age of 99 in 495 BC, Metapontum.

Pythagorean theorem.
  • Given a right triangle ( a triangle with a right
(or 90 degree) angle),the square of the length
of the hypotenuse (the side opposite the right
angle) is equal to the sum of the squares of the
lengths of the two other sides. The normal way
    of seeing this is...A2 B2 C2.A
triangle with sides of length 3ft, 4ft and 5ft is
    a right triangle because32 42 52(9 16
25)It is used in a great many ways. You can
measure the sides, and prove a triangle is a
right triangle, or you can use the fact that a
triangle is a right triangle to calculate one of
    the sides.

4
Contribution to math!
  • He contributed to philosophy and religious
teachings in the late 6th BC. He admired math and
came up with of what we know as the Pythagorean
    theorem.

5
Other facts!
  • He believed that his friend had come back to
life, as a dog. He said he talked to him through
a dogs bark. He starved himself to death and
    thats how he died.
