Mission of the Fondation Sophia Antipolis
  • AIM The Foundation aims to facilitate exchanges
    and foresight exercises, at the French, European
    and international levels, in the fields of
    science, industry and culture. The target of the
    Foundation is to create an environment which will
    facilitate partnerships and which will support
    the culture of innovation.
  • HOW Through the creation of new entrepreneurial
    culture within these organisations. The
    Foundation launches ideas during conferences,
    seminars and business breakfasts and participates
    actively in EU studies and projects.
  • POSITION Geographically at the crossroads of
    Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, Sophia
    Antipolis, since the beginning, has wanted to be
    situated at the crossroads of technology, art,
    philosophy and ethics. The Foundation encourages
    scientific and cultural activities in Sophia
    Antipolis.

Future Actions to ensure SA continues to
stimulate an innovation culture
  • HOW 1 Hosting the launch (4 Nov 2005) of the
    French national policy on clusters (pôles de
    competitivité) where the 55 pôles will be brought
    together to exchange best practices.
  • HOW 2 Bringing together art and technology by
    supporting Sophia Art. A network of 200 artists
    in the PACA region who use technology as the
    inspiration for their various artforms (painting,
    sculptures etc)
  • HOW 3 FSA participates in the creation and
    support of European level networks between
    business, research and other communities. The
    ELITE network is being launched in Paris today
    and tomorrow in front of 250 people.
