- From the Welcome screen or any Athena menu, click

- 2. Type the word or phrase that you want to use
as a search term. You can search by author,
title, or subject. Click search

screen. Click the item which you want to view.
Click next if you want to view other search
results.

the book such as the Number of Copies,
Availability of book, Call Number, Subject,
Notes, Publisher and Physical Description of
the book.

The Call Number of the book will direct you to a
specific shelf in the library. The prefix of the
call number will tell you whether the book is
located at the REFERENCE SECTION, FILIPINIANA
SECTION, etc. FIL HD 28.12 Q36 2004 FIL HD
28.12 Q36 2004 REF AE 5 N49 2003 The prefix REF
will direct you to the REFERENCE COLLECTION FIL
TA 647 E84 2000 The prefix FIL will direct you
to the FILIPINIANA COLLECTION CIR QA 76.5 P37
2004 The prefix CIR will direct you to the
CIRCULATION COLLECTION

B. ADVANCED SEARCH 1. From the Welcome screen or
any Athena menu, click the Search quick start
button.

2. From the Quick search screen, click the
Advanced Search tab.

- Enter your search terms. You can search for the
subject and author of the book at the same time.
For example you wish to look for a book on
COMPUTER by PETER NORTON, just type the search
terms then click search.

C. VISUAL SEARCH 1. From the Welcome screen or
any Athena menu, click the Search quick start
button. 2. Click the Visual Search tab. You
will see the Visual Home screen.

3. Click the visual search button that most
closely represents your area of interest.

4. If the button you choose is linked to a
search or a bibliography, Athena will display
the search result or the bibliography. If the
button is linked to a program, Athena will
launch the program.
