• Author browse (for books written by a certain

• What is it?
• Provides access to the librarys collection of
  200,000 print items (books, journals, magazines,
  music scores)
• 52,000 non-print items (cds, dvds, videos, sound
  recordings)
• 35,000 eBooks.

If youre researching a topic

• Keyword search
• Searches the entire record for your search term
• May get too many results
• Subject search
• Library of Congress subject headings
• Will help narrow your search
• Use keywords to find subject headings

Boolean search

• Combine terms with AND, OR
• Must select Boolean search for step 2

• The more terms you combine, the fewer results you

• Search for the journal title - 2 ways
• E-journals for electronic, full-text of the
  article
• search for the journal title

• Check out the table of contents and index on the
