COORDINATION AREA TECHNICAL CONCEPT
WITHIN THE COORDINATION AREA
Terrestrial Stations or Earth Stations operating
in opposite directions of transmission are likely
to receive interference from the earth station or
to cause interference to the earth station, above
the permissible level.

9COORDINATION AREA TECHNICAL CONCEPT
OUTSIDE THE COORDINATION AREA
The level of permissible interference will not
be exceeded Most unfavourable case
assumptions as regards interference

10COORDINATION AREA ADMINISTRATIVE CONCEPT
WITHIN THE COORDINATED AREA The earth station has
the right to operate with its coordinated
characteristics and at the level of agreed
interference

Appendix 5 Reference of Article 9 (9.17A)
Case Specific transmitting earth station
associated with non-GSO or GSO in respect of
other earth stations operating in the opposite
direction of transmission in frequency bands
allocated with equal rights to space
radiocommunication services in both directions of
transmission with the exception of bands subject
to plans Calculation Method Appendix

14Calculation Method for Determination of
Coordination Area
Appendix 5 Reference of Article 9 (9.17A)
Case Receiving Earth Station There is no
methodology for calculating the receive earth
station coordination contour with respect to a
transmitting earth station. However, the
requirement of coordination can be identified by
verifying whether or not the receiving Earth
Station is falling within the coordination area
of any transmitting earth stations Calculation

23 Coordination Area of Mobile Earth Stations
For a mobile earth station, the periphery of the
service area is extended by the coordination
distance. The coordination distance may be a
predetermined coordination distance or it may be
calculated (No additional protection can be
assumed to be available from the earth station
horizon elevation angle for all azimuths)

Coordination Request of Adm A (AP4/III forms And
Coordination Contours)
To Countries identified (Administrations B,
C, D, )
26Response to Request of Coordination by
Administration B
- Acknowledge receipt of the coordination request
- Collect data on existing and planned TS ES(ODT)
to be brought into use in the next 3 years or to
be operated prior to the date of bringing into
use of earth station, falling within its
coordination area.
B
A
27Response to Request of Coordination by
Administration B
- Conduct Technical Examination
- Detailed technical examination is not required
if the TS ES(ODT) - Are not inside the coordination area or
- Has no frequency overlap or
- With lesser potential are not inside the
Auxiliary contours - Interference is within the acceptable level
28Response to Request of Coordination by
Administration B
Conduct Detailed Technical Examination
Detailed technical examination is required if TS
ES(ODT) inside the coordination contour or
auxiliary contours could cause or receive
unacceptable interference. Exchange of
information like terrain profile, modulation
scheme, precise e.i.r.p and sensitivity may help
administrations to reach coordination agreement
29Response to Request of Coordination by
Administration B
Coordination agreement is reached (9.52B)
Administration B may agree to the coordination
by requesting the inclusion of its TS ES(ODT)
not yet recorded in the MIFR but are to be
brought into use in the next three years and
sends complete characteristics (AP4 Annex 1A/1B
or 2A/2B) of these stations to Administration A
and the Bureau.
30Response to Request of Coordination by
Administration B
- Coordination agreement is not reached (9.52)
- Administration B does not agree to the
coordination request. It shall - within four months of the date of dispatch of the
coordination data, inform Administration A of its
disagreement - provide information concerning its own
assignments upon which that disagreement is
based and - make such suggestions as it is able to offer with
a view to satisfactory resolution of the matter. - A copy of that information shall be sent to the
Bureau. - Only that information relating to existing
radiocommunication stations or to those to be
brought into use within the next three months for
terrestrial stations, or three years for earth
stations, shall be treated as notifications under
Nos. 11.2 or 11.9.
