RCMC
  • Rancho Cucamonga Marching Cougars (RCMC) is a
    great organization that involves not only the
    students, but the parents as well.
  • Parents are needed to help run the program.
  • During the band season, your student will spend
    several hours at school for practice.
  • Band Camp- 2 ½ weeks in August, a must
  • Yes, your student can do band and another sport
    at the same time.

Support System
  • As a new student to RCMC, the music council and
    your section leaders are there to answer any
    questions you may have.
  • As a parent, reach out to a board member for
    answers see www.rchsbands.org for board members
    contact information.
  • The student handbook gives information about the
    band, your childs responsibilities and the
    payment schedule.
  • Come to the board meetings 2nd Tuesday of the
    month from 7 8 p.m. in the band room.
  • Booster meetings are the best place for parents
    to learn about the program.

Expenses
  • Band is not cheap we do provide ways to earn
    money
  • Additional Freshmen costs one time cost
  • Color Guard
  • Percussion
  • Estimated band fees 850.00
  • Band shoes, warm up suit, gloves - 103.00
  • Additional costs for equipment, shoes, uniform
    etc.
  • Additional costs for equipment

How do you pay for band?
  • All students MUST pay band fees.
  • Fees must be paid in full by the start of band
    camp in August.
  • We try to provide several fundraisers throughout
    the year to help offset the cost of the program.
    Although as freshmen parents coming in, most
    fundraisers do not begin until the band season
    starts.
  • So to help get a jump start, we now offer
    freshmen parents the option to participate in
    fundraisers that start in April.

How do you pay for band?(contd.-pre-band season)
  • Work the Quakes - RCMC provides staff for two
    concession stands at the Quakes stadium.
  • All students 15 and older can work.
  • Parent are desperately needed to work .
  • Working several games during the season can pay
    your band fees, drum and guard season fees and
    help to get a start on next years fees.
  • See Quakes link on our web site for more
    information.

How do you pay for band?(contd.-pre-band season)
  • Program Ads
  • This fundraiser will begin in April of this year
    and end in early August
  • Ask businesses to buy spaces in the program. The
    lowest price is 25.00 for a business size ad.
    Your student account will earn 20.00.
  • Come out to the March Boosters meeting to pick
    up order forms and get more information or visit
    the bands web site to print off ad forms.

  • Christmas Wreaths
  • Cookie Dough
  • Taste of Rancho Ticket sales
  • Purchase Scrip
  • A large percentage of sales for these fundraisers
    go directly into your students account
  • Spirit Night at restaurants
  • Car Wash
  • Money earned from these events go into the
    general account

Winter Guard Drum Line Season
  • Tryouts are in November
  • Practice begins Dec
  • Competitions begin in Feb
  • Costs range 1600 - 1800
  • Two out of town trips

All Band fees must be up to date in order to
try-out for these two groups

How do I pay for it?
  • Gift Wrapping
  • Car Washes
  • Yard Sales

All drum line and guard fees must be paid off in
order to attend the out of town activities

RCMC travels
  • In 2007 RCMC performed in 3 separate venues in
    Paris, France.
  • Our hope is they will be invited to perform in
    Rome, Italy within the next 3 years.
  • The estimated cost may be 2500.00 per person.
  • So earning extra money to your students account
    will help send them and even you!

As the current RCMC Booster President, I invite
you out to our April 15th booster meeting. Come
learn more about the program and bring your
questions to this meeting. I also strongly
encourage you to sign up to work the Quakes. All
parents, aunts, uncles, etc., are invited to
work. See our band website for more info on
working the Quakes. I look forward to working
