Process-concept advantages of Filtration
Handler
  • The filtration handler was originally developed
    to automate the kieselgur filtration-process of
    old plate-filters put back into function. However
    the concept itself turned out to be a very
    economical one and this for a lot of aspects
    related to the filtration-process.
  • The filtration handler is the ideal solution for
    brewerys who want to automate and /or improve
    their filtration because of poor liability on the
    present filtration process (high exploitation
    costs) without investing in a complete new
    filtration-plant.
  • The handler integrates by means of a set of
    valves, pumps and instrumentation the total
    process of adequate filtration-handling.

Handler
  • The heart of the unit is the set of two
    regulating valves which enables the balancing
    between one target of transfer (BBT, VN-tank,
    Re-circulation, Drain) and an other target of
    transfer without changes or shocks on the
    back-pressure on the kieselgur-filter.
  • The special control-software needed to control
    this balancing sequence enables changeover from
    one branch to another in less then 10 sec.

  • This system makes the presence of a buffertank
    after the filter obsolete with the following
    advantages as consequence
  • less CO2 - consumption
  • less mixing of beers
  • absolute repeatability on beerchanges by means
    of volumetric counting

    because the buffertank filtrate doesnt need to
    be cleaned.

Handler
  • Unitec provides not only the handler as a unit
    but will assist you in integrating the unit in
    the present filtration in the most economical
    way. All necessary features will be taken into
    account. F.e. the possibility to integrate a
    trapp-filter, a Carbonation Unit, a
    blending-system
  • The handler has in its standard software the
    possibility to do pre-coating of the filter with
    filtrated beer. So also VN mixing volumes can be
    kept to a strict minimum.
  • A filtration-report generation on the Operating
    panel with volumes transferred, timestamps,
    beertype, can be ordered as an option.
