Setting

• The setting is Lake Koshkonong, Wisconsin. It has
  forests surrounding the lake. Sterlings house is
  in Brailsford Junction, but he spends most of his
  time at Lake Koshkonong. Brailsford Junction is a
  small town in Wisconsin that is heaven to an
  adventurous boy. It is near forests, and has
  lakes and rivers. Everybody knows everybody else
  there.

Characters

• Sterling North is the main character. He has one
  brother and two sisters. His mother is deceased
  and his father travels a lot. Sterling is
  adventurous, brave, and fun loving. He is good at
  building things, canoes for example. He likes
  hanging out with Rascal. Sterling had to build
  Rascal a cage. He also had to get Rascal a
  collar. That really upset both of them.
• Theodora North is Sterlings sister. She goes by
  Theo. She has a job and is engaged. She is what
  you would call a neat freak. She flipped out when
  they didnt get a housekeeper, but when they did
  she was happy. She is fun, loving, caring, and
  kind of strict. She is also, apparently, a really
  good cook. She got scared by Rascal in a visit.
  She also forced them to get a housekeeper.

• Rascal is the other main character. He is funny,
  curious, and territorial as he grows up. He is
  very smart, too. He enjoys strawberry pop, which
  he can drink by holding up the bottle with all of
  his paws. Many animals such as dogs and horses
  love him. He is a speed demon too. He likes to
  sit in the front of a canoe or bike and be the
  pilot. Rascal had to be caged. He also attacked
  the town bully twice.

  from watershed to watershed.

  Brailsford Junction late in October, killing more
  of our citizens than died in the war.

  that argued the idea that if you split an atom,
  it would blow up
• The allied forces fought against fascist nations
  such as Nazi Germany and Italy.
• To end the war in the Pacific, the allied forces
  dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in
  Japan.
