..Main Idea..The main idea of this book is when
Sterling goes in the woods and finds a left
behind baby raccoon.

• Sterling finds Rascal
• Sterlings dad is gone a lot for his job
• Rascal needs to be kept in a cage since he
  escapes and get into trouble
• Sterlings sister wants to get a housekeeper, but
  Sterling doesnt since she hates animals
• Rascal is the reason for a horse vs. car race and
  the horse wins so his neighbors like him again.
• Rascal is released into the wild

..Setting..Most of this story
is at Sterlings house. Sterling lives in
Wisconsin and loves to go fishing with Rascal and
his dog, Wowser. I this book Rascal starts
escaping at night, He ended up in their neighbors
kitchen eating her jam. Sterling decided to take
Rascal to town one day Rascal ended up knocking
down shelves in a store trying to a steal a
banana. Towards the end of the book Sterling
decides its best for Rascal to live in the wild
after biting him. So, Sterling takes his new
canoe and releases him across the river.

Characters

• Rascal is one of the main characters in this book
  his is always curious, and gets along with anyone
  that likes him. Rascal is good at catching
  crayfish when he goes fishing with Sterling. He
  is always eating though and gets in trouble a lot
  for getting into someone's corn, jam, or bananas.
  When Rascal was released he met another female
  raccoon. They fought off a mean cat that wouldve
  tried to eat him and made him fall Into the
  water. Rascal is very brave and curious.
• Sterling is always hanging out with his animals.
  He will take in just about anything that needs
  help. He is always working on some kind of
  project like a canoe that he is working on in the
  book. Sterling has a tough time since his mom
  died. His dad is always gone for his job, so he
  just hangs with the animals. Sterling is nice and
  laid back.
• Theo is Sterlings sister. She is always worrying
  about cleaning the house. Theo tried to hire a
  housekeeper but it never worked out. She wanted
  Sterling to get rid of Wowser and Rascal before
  she was one, since she hated animals. She doesnt
  really like that Rascal has so many animals. Theo
  is always rushing but is trying to look out for
  her family since Sterlings mom died.
