Biographical Information
  • Martin Luther King Junior lived from 1929-1968.
  • In the 17th of November, 1955, his first child
    was born.
  • In the 18th of February 1957, King appears on the
    front cover of the TIME magazine.
  • On the 4th of April 1968, King was shot off the
    balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis and he
    was killed.
  • On the 9th of April King was buried in Atlanta.

What Do We Believe
  • We believe he is a peace hero because he took us
    in the right direction towards stopping racism.

  • Martin Luther King Junior gave the black people
    the same rights as white people and changed
    history.
  • 250 000 people were there for the speech I Have
    A Dream.
  • King was one of the 20th centurys most
    influential men who lived one of the most
    extraordinary lives.
  • King wrote 4 books about equal rights between the
    white people and the black people.

We Believe a Peace Hero Is
  • Martin Luther King Juniors house was bombed, he
    was charged thirteen times, went to jail and yet
    still protested non-violently.
  • He fought for equal rights.
  • His first speech was called, I have a Dream.
  • The speech has changed history.

Biography Information Continued
  • On the seventh of June 1966, Kings friend was
    recording a speech called, March Against Fear,
    when Kings friend was also shot.
  • On the 17th of September 1958, King wrote his
    first book called, Stride Towards Freedom.
  • King Ralph and 264 other protesters are arrested
    during the campaign on the 16th of December 1967.

Building Peace Continued.
  • In 1956 while King speaks at a mass meeting his
    house is bombed. His wife and daughter were not
    injured.
  • King had four children in total.
  • In 1968 March 18th, King lead a march of 6000
    protesters in support of the striking sanitation
    workers in Memphis. The march descends into a
    violent and looting battle and King was rushed
    from the scene
