• It helped people separate seeds from cotton

  taxes on the cotton people were buying

  production and made the cotton cheaper so people
  could buy more cotton.

• It made neighbors get to know each other better
  because they worked in the factories together.
• They also worked in the cotton fields together.
• They lived in mill houses that were close to the
  factories so they wouldnt have to walk far.

Eli Whitneys Bio

• Born in Westboro, Massachusetts, Whitney decided
  in 1783 to get a college education. His own
  efforts were supplemented by his fathers
  financial help, and after six years preparation
  he was admitted to Yale College in 1792.
