Characters
  • Scrooge-He was a middle aged man and his life was
    going to waste. His attitude towards people
    around Christmas Eve wasnt the greatest. He
    despised anyone who said anything or had anything
    to do with Christmas.
  • Three Ghost (Past, Present, and Future.)-These
    ghost were to guide and show Scrooge his past,
    present, and future life. It was up to Scrooge
    if he was going to change his ways.

Theme to A Christmas Carol
  • The theme to the book, A Christmas Carol.
    Scrooge is a man somewhere in his fiftys and he
    owns his own business. He is very wealthy and
    has no kindness in his heart to give one of his
    employees, Bob Crachit, a bonus or raise for
    Christmas. Scrooge is very tight with his money
    and with his attitude. He is a very stubborn
    man. Three ghost come to his house The Ghost of
    Christmas Past, Present, and Future. They are
    there to change his mind and ways about how he
    treats people.

Stave One
  • Marley, one of Scrooges Employs, comes back from
    the dead as a ghost and arrives at Scrooges
    house at one o'clock in the morning. He is
    there to warn Scrooge about the three ghost that
    are coming to guide him to his new life. This
    chapter introduced Scrooge and Bob Crachit.

Stave Two
  • The first ghost(Christmas Past) arrives at
    Scrooges house and shows Scrooge as a little
    boy. Scrooge had many friends(book characters).
    He loved his sister very much. He was going to
    marry a woman named Belle, but she realized that
    he loved money more than her.

Stave Three
  • This stave is about the ghost of Christmas
    Present visiting Scrooge. The ghost made Scrooge
    realize that even if you arent wealthy you can
    still have a great Christmas. The ghost showed
    Scrooge how much people enjoy Christmas. Scrooge
    thinks that nobody likes him but the ghost shows
    him that they do to celebrate Christmas.

Stave Four
  • Stave four is about the ghost of Christmas
    Future. The ghost takes Scrooge to his grave and
    reveals that his name is on his grave. Scrooge
    begs for forgiveness and promises that he will
    change his life and live in the past, present,
    and future.

Stave Five
  • Stave five tells us that Scrooge changes his life
    and he changed the fate of others, including Tiny
    Tim. He acts very happy and pleased. Stave five
    also starts out on Christmas day. Its very
    sunny and happy, while on Christmas Eve was very
    foggy, and gloomy. Finally Scrooge gets his life
    on track.

About Charles Dickens
  • Charles Dickens was born in Portsmouth, England
    on February 7, 1812. He worked in a law firm
    office as a young adult. At the same time he
    wrote for Mirror of Parliament and True Sun.
    Soon after that he wrote short stories of a fake
    character named Boz. In the year of 1836 he
    married a woman by the name of Catherine Hogarth.
    The same year he began his comic stories of The
    Pickwick Papers.
