- A secure and private area to store their work.

- A resource to enhance communications between
staff and students. - Blackboard access
- An account to gain access to Blackboard, and
learning materials for all enrolled modules.

7Interoperability - what do mean by that
- NICIS
- NICIS only provide core MIS functionality.
- NICIS is interfaced to provide data for other
core ILT services. - Windows Accounts
- Student accounts are created using periodic
updates via CSV files. - Student accounts are automatically created using
live NICIS data. - Blackboard
- Blackboard maintain duplicate internal username,
password, module enrolment. - Periodic CVS uploads from MIS to keep information
updated. - NICIS Blackboard automatically synchronise to
maintain data integrity.

- Students can login, surf, e-mail, print and save
documents almost immediately. - Lecturers can upload content email individuals

- Students provided with single sign-on to
Blackboard single password to remember. - Course or module enrolment is automated based on
