The Good News
-
- Because of the population explosion that is
going on today, a large portion of all the people
who have ever lived on this earth will be living
in the next 50 years. That means that this
generation of the Lords church has an
unparalleled opportunity. - Flavil R. Yeakley, Jr., Ph.D.
- Harding Center for Church Growth Studies, 2002
4Discipleship Whats It All About?
- The Claims Of Christ
- For the Son of Man came to seek and save the
lost. Luke 1910 - I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me. If you
really knew me, you would know my Father as well
John 146-7 - If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching
John 1423
5Discipleship Whats It All About?

- 16 f For God so loved the world that he gave
his one and only Son, that whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life. - For God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but to save the world through
him.
6Discipleship Whats It All About?
- Faith In Christ Essential
- How, then, can they call on the one they have
not believed in? And how can they believe in
the one of whom they have not heard? And how
can they hear without someone preaching
(proclaiming) to them? Romans 1014
7Discipleship Whats It All About?
- The Call Of Christ
- All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded
you... Matthew 2818-20

9Discipleship Whats It All About?
- Matt. 1034-39
- 34-36 Do not suppose that I have come to bring
peace to the earth. I did not come to bring
peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a
man against his father, a daughter against her
mother, a daughter-in-law against her
mother-in-law a mans enemies will be the
members of his own household.
10Discipleship Whats It All About?
- Matt. 1034-39
- 37-39 Anyone who loves his father or mother more
than me is not worthy of me anyone who loves
his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of
me and anyone who does not take his cross and
follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his
life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for
my sake will find it.
