Mentor Groups

• Houses are divided into mentor groups
• Twenty two groups of 8 to 13 pupils, y7 to y11
• Mentors are all teachers, teaching assistants and
  office staff
• Pupils will meet with their whole group three
  times a week
• Pupils will meet individually with their mentor
  once every two weeks
• Any questions or problems pupils can go to-
• 1. Mentor 2. Head of House or
• 3. Head of Faculty 4. Class Teacher

What is a mentor?
A mentor will be an adult - either a teacher, TA
or office staff who will spend time talking with
pupils and listening to them.

What will the mentors do?

• Talk to pupils about their interests outside of
  school

• Tell pupils how they could revise for tests,
  exams, etc.

How will the mentor groups help pupils?

Assemblies

• The pupils will have an Assembly twice a week in
  the Drama hall
• Everyone in Trevithick House will be there
• One assembly will be taken by a senior member of
  staff or an external speaker.
• One assembly will be taken by the House Head
  notices and info for the week given out
• On the other days pupils will go to their mentor
  for group mentoring.

Attendance Information

• The pupils will swipe into every lesson.
• On the first day of term each pupil will be
  given
• A swipe card
• A timetable
• A planner
• A rough book
• Pupils can get a locker so bring a lock!
• Uniform and general enquiries to main office
  (however it can be purchased this evening).

CAS Office (Care And Support)

• If pupils have any problems or worries they can
  always go to the CAS office at break or lunch
• They can help pupils or talk to them about
  anything that they need to talk about
• If the pupils sign in late or if they are away
  for illness they must see the CAS office on
  return
• It would be helpful if you as parents could call
  the school or write a note to the CAS office to
  explain absences
