Austria has a very wide range of dishes in its
culture. With such a large variety it allows for
many different combinations that transition
wonderfully from one dish to the next.
2 Wiener Schnitzel
This is a specialty dish that originated from an
Italian dish Costoletta Milanese. The
traditional Wiener Schnitzel is veal that has
been fried in Lard.
3 Erdaepfelsalat
A wonderful side dish that consists mainly of
potatoes, red onion and spices to give it flavor.
It is generally used as a side dish to Wiener
Schnitzel.
4 Cheese Danish
One of the most famous desserts, it is a
wafer-thin strudel-like pastry that is filled
with cream cheese and raisins.
5 Sachertorte
The original recipe for this cake has become a
well-kept secret but many people have created a
very close replica. This cake contains dark
chocolate and apricot marmalade, to give it a
different taste than you would expect.
