Datatel (MILO) Colleague Release 17 - Tree Menu Windows

enhancements or fixes - These may influence reports and queries that you
run report any problems to the Help Desk
3Tree Menu Windows
Click the Tree button to hide or show the tree
menu when a screen is open
When you first log on, the UI window will look
much like it did in R16
When you enter a screen, the screen appears in
the right hand window, with the tree menu on the
left
4Save All/ Cancel All
SAVE ALL
CANCEL ALL
Now when you detail onto another screen, you can
save or cancel out of all screens at once just
click on Save All or Cancel All
Make sure you want to save or cancel! You will
NOT get the Update-Cancel-Return window when you
use these buttons
5Word Wrap in Comments
Most comments and description fields now have
word wrapping capability. Exceptions are those
that have no Detail.
If previous text (entered in R16) is found that
exceeds the line length, an Alert will ask you if
you want to reformat text. Choose Y for yes.
You can also cut, copy and paste from Word or
other sources directly into these fields! Use the
menus, or right-click, or Ctrl-X (cut), Ctrl-C
(copy), Ctrl-V (paste)
There is even an undo! (right-click)
To automatically sign comments with your name,
date and time, click on Edit/ Date/Time/Login
Stamp (The key is no longer available here)
6Better LookUp for Some Fields
Fields that were tiny, but still required data
entry, will now provide you a lookup window
7Direct Access
If you are in a screen for a particular record,
you can go directly to another screen for this
record.
Click on File/ Direct Access or F8 and click
Update
Type the mnemonic of the screen you want to
access (use CAPS)
The new screen will display for this student
when you save from the second screen, your
original screen is still active for entering your
next record.
8Background Mode
The last screen in canned reports and processes
has additional fields
You may enter Y here to execute in the
background enter I for Background Execution Type
If you prefer to view the Progress of your report
or process, do not change the first field keep
it set to No
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE BATCH PROCESSES AT THIS
TIME WE WILL BE LOOKING AT THESE FUNCTIONALITIES
AT A LATER TIME.
9Background Mode
If you keep Background Mode set to No, you will
continue to see the processing progress shown here
If you choose to change Background Mode to Yes,
and choose Immediate Execution, the
report/process will print/run, but you will not
see this screen Your display will return to the
main menu.
10Additional Notes ST
- There are only a few changes made to screens or
processes for the end user - TRAN Transcript - You can now hold more than 1
transcript to the print browser for local
printing - CREN Cash Receipt Entry - You can now Return to
the screen if you posted more money than was
charged.

- New Reports
- DCSR Duplicate Course Sections Report prints all
duplicate course/section numbers for a term (use
when building sections) - STSD Student Standings prints listing of students
who have specified standing (probation, deans
list, etc) - If you need either of these new reports and
cannot access the screens, contact Fran Dice

- There are only a few changes made to screens or
processes for the end user - ACBL Account Balance you can now detail to view
Actuals - GLJE General Ledger Journal Entry now allows you
to save the journal entry without completing it

- There are only a few changes made to screens or
processes for the end user - PSTP Persons Stipend now has two new fields
- Course/Section Number look up the same way you
look up in ST 03fa eng 101 ac01 - Total Hours Taught enter credits for credit/
actual hours taught (load) for non-credit - Non-instructional stipends leave these fields
blank - Remember that there are many behind-the-scenes
changes in HR this may influence queries/
reports you use for payroll data please notify
