SHIP REGISTRATION FEES
  • The fee rates for Bahamian ships are structured
to cater to ship owners who are looking for a
longer-term commitment to the flag. The initial
fee is higher than some other registers but a
lower annual fee balances this. This is done
    specifically to discourage less reputable
    operators.
  • Initial registration fee
  • For ships of 5,000 net tons or less, 1.20 per
    ton (minimum 2,400)
  • For ships of more than 5,000 net tons but less
    than 25,001 net tons,
  • 1.10 per ton
  • For ships of 25,001 net tons or more, 27,500
  • Annual fee
  • For ships of under 25,0001 net tons, 10 percent
    of the registration
  • fee plus 1,500
  • For ships of 25,001 net tons or more, 11 cents
    per ton plus 1,500
  • Different rates apply for vessels trading only
    within The Bahamas.
