Site Search
  • Initial considerations
  • Co-location options (State/Federal/Local
    Government)
  • Surplus State Property
  • Local Government Surplus
  • Re-use, Infill, Brownfield options
  • If no opportunities are found, continue search of
    the land market
  • Identify site options. Assemble information
    package on potentialsites (3-5 sites).
  • Plan site tour with team which includes DGS
    Environment Planning (ESS) and State Agency
    Client.
  • Identify priorities, evaluate which sites best
    meet Client needs and rank the sites.

  • Site Specific Study
  • Begin initial title, value and CEQA study on
    top site priority.
  • Review preliminary report. Get approved
    appraisal and preliminary environmental
    investigations.
  • If no significant title or environmental issues
    are found and site value is within budget
    appropriation, prepare for SPWB site selection
    approval.
  • If not, begin study on 2nd site priority.
    Proceed until a site is successfully
    selected.
  • To complete Acquisition phase, financial and
    contract terms must be agreed to with
    Seller.
