The State Board of Education Says
  • Coordinated School Health Programs can
    positively impact student academic achievement
and empower students with the knowledge, skills,
and judgment essential to help them make healthy
    and responsible choices in life.
  • It is the unique role of quality physical
education programs to provide opportunities for
children to understand the importance of physical
activity and acquire skills to combat a sedentary
    lifestyle.

10
  • .The (State) board further believes that
schools must do all they can to promote student
health and well being if Michigans ambitious
academic achievement and the goals of the federal
No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 are to be
    realistically attained.
