What is a sentence?
  • A sentence is a grammatically complete group of
    words that expresses a thought.
  • A sentence must tell you 2 things
  • (1) The person, animal, place, thing or idea that
    the sentence is about
  • This is called the SUBJECT of the sentence.
  • (2) What the person, animal, place, thing or idea
    is doing/thinking.
  • This is called the PREDICATE of the sentence.
    (You can find the predicate if you can find the
    verb.)
