2Primary-stage rockets and launchers found in
Nablus, WEST BANK, Jan. 2008
Between Jan 1- 5, IDF forces conducted operations
in the West Bank city of Nablus. A weapons lab
and a large weapons cache was discovered during
the four-day operation. Amongst the weapons
discovered were rocket-preparing materials,
suicide-bomb belts, two handguns and explosive
materials. The forces also uncovered bombs,
missile launchers, and other military equipment.
The entire weapons cache was detonated in a
controlled manner by the special engineering
forces.

On Dec. 31, 2007, an IDF desert reconnaissance
battalion identified two armed terrorist
operatives attempting to plant explosives near
the Security Fence in the southern Gaza Strip,
near the Israeli community of Kerem Shalom. A
number of weapons were found on the scene,
including Kalashnikov rifles, hand grenades,
magazines, flak jackets and two way radios.

An IDF force identified three armed Palestinians
by the Gaza security fence and opened fire on
them. They were subsequently discovered to have
been in possession of a snipes rifle, Kalashnikov
AK-47 rifles and recording equipment. 21.

510kg Bomb in Sheep Carcass, WEST BANK, August 2007
In August 2007During IDF operations near Kfar
Saalem, east of Nablus in the West Bank, IDF
forces discovered a 10kg bomb, made from a
fire-extinguisher filled with explosives and
nails, which was hidden inside a sheeps carcass.
The bomb was detonated by IDF sappers in a

6Assault Rifles and Ammunition, Jenin, WEST BANK,
April 2007
In April 2007, Palestinian gunmen opened fire on
Border Police special forces during an operation
in the Jenin refugee camp. The troops identified
the source of the gunfire and returned fire,
killing three of the terrorists. The gunmen had
used a Kalashnikov rifle, an M-16 assault rifle,
and a Galil rifle along with 12 magazines
(pictured), all of which was found and
confiscated by the Border Police unit. 4.22.2007.

7Pipe Bombs, Grenades, Assault Rifles, Pistols,
Knives, Bullet Proof Vests, Ramallah, WEST BANK,
April 2007
In April 2007, IDF forces and the General
Security Service (GSS also known as the Shin
Bet) surrounded the Military Intelligence
building in Ramallah where operatives of the
Fatah armed wing, Tanzim, were hiding. The
suspects, known to have executed terror acts,
gave themselves in, and were transferred into the
custody of the GSS. During the operation, the
forces uncovered seven pipe bombs, an M-16, three
pistols, a grenade, bullet-proof vests, and other

8Heavy Machine Gun, Jenin, WEST BANK November 2006
A Palestinian vehicle reached the Reihan
checkpoint on Nov. 11. 2006, west of Jenin,
arousing the suspicion of the soldiers manning
the point. In a search of the vehicle by soldiers
and Border Police, the forces uncovered a MAG
heavy machine gun, and dozens of bullets inside a
panel of the vehicle. The weapons were
confiscated and the Palestinians traveling in the

In October 2006, during an IDF operation in
southern Gaza, a reservist battalion of the
paratroopers identified two armed gunmen in the
region of Absan A-Kabir. The force advanced
toward the gunmen and killed them. In a
subsequent search of the bodies of the gunmen,
the soldiers discovered explosives, an anti-tank
missile, an improvised grenade, two AK-47
Kalashnikov assault rifles, and a number of

12Road-side Bomb, Nablus, WEST BANK, October 2006
On Oct. 10, 2006, IDF troops successfully
thwarted a planned terrorist attack after they
uncovered an explosive device near an Israeli
roadway east of Nablus in the West Bank. The
device was detonated in a controlled explosion by
IDF sappers. No injuries or damage was reported.
13Weapons smuggling off the coast of Gaza, May 2006
Israeli Naval forces intercepted 13 sacks of
explosives off the Gazan coast, intended to be
