2This award honors William Allen White, a famous
writer and journalist from Emporia Kansas.
3Each year a new master list is chosen by
librarians.
4Students in the state of Kansas get to read the
books and vote for their favorite one.
5The book with the most votes wins the award.
6For the year 2006-2007 2 lists have been chosen.
7One list is for 3rd - 5th grade, the other is
for 6th -8th grade.
8To be eligible to vote, students are required to
read at least 2 books from the list.
9Voting takes place in March. Start reading now!!
