3There is some uncertainty about the charter
members due to the fact that the earliest minutes
begin in 1905, almost 15 years after the church
was organized.

C. W. McClung
5In February, 1904, a committee was appointed to
select a site to build a on. One year and two
months later, the building was completed, costing
479.87.
6The Church bell was purchased in 1937. It was
used in the old church building and is still
being used today.
This is a picture of the string used to ring the
bell.
7A sculpture of the Crown of Thorns was made by
Rev. Lon Marks and is still in the church today.
8In 1943 two Sunday School rooms were added to the
church. The third room was finished in 1945, and
by September, 1952, two more Sunday School rooms
had been completed.
9In 1954, C. O. White donated a lot back of the
church for a parsonage. The parsonage was
completed in 1956.
10The educational building
On July 11, 1959 the church voted on adding an
educational building. The educational building
seen here is a frame building with brick veneer.

September 1970 there was a business meeting
informing the congregation that the building of
a new highway would take some of the church
property beside of the parsonage.
12The Chrismon Tree
On December 18, 1983, the Chrismon tree (a
Christmas tree with symbolic ornaments) was first
used in the sanctuary for the Christmas season.
13DIRECTORY
On June 24, 1984 a lighted directory was given to
the church in memory of Harold L. Zimmerman.
14The steeple was donated by Kathleen Rule in
memory of her sister, Iva Rule.

On March 25, 1984 a ground-breaking ceremony
was held to start the new sanctuary pictured here.
