Meet Metro Joe

Whos Metro Joe?
Metro Joe is the host of a fast-paced computer
game that quizzes students about the Chicago
region. The game is intended for use in the
classroom as an introduction to our regional
curriculum.

Using the Metro Joe resource kit, teachers can
engage students in learning about regional issues

  communities in the Chicago region

• analyze connections between local problems and

• explore the long-term consequences of public
  policy decisions being made in their
  own communities

• engage in public policy debates in the
  classroom

• gain the knowledge and confidence to become
  active citizens of the region

The exhibition coincided with the publication of
the book Revealing Chicago An Aerial Portrait,
published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc., that features
essays that raise important issues about the
Chicago regions growth, revitalization and
conservation.
