ordinary (true) blood oranges
The Ordinary Blood Oranges.This is the oldest
group, almost certainly of Sicilian origin, the
fruits of which are similar to the common sweet
orange with the exception of the blood
pigmentation.  It includes the very old
Sanguinello Comune and Maltaise Sanguine
varieties, many other light blood oranges, and
the much younger Moro and Tarocco deep blood
varieties.
