Some interesting things to remember

• The desire to explore was based on economic
  reasons!
• Groups of nobles quit fighting each other and
  formed countries. This gave them more money to
  use for other things
• The Turks closed the city of Constantinople.
  This blocked the land route of trade from Europe
  to India and China.
• This forced merchants to look for a water route
  to the East.
