the pre-approved list) your reflection in

20CA Scholarship Federation This is a statewide
organization whose purpose is to recognize
students who have demonstrated outstanding
academic achievement. Qualifying for membership
is on a semester basis. It follows a point
system that requires As and Bs in approved
classes, and specific type of community service
each semester. Ms. Rhoads is the advisor
drhoads_at_santacruz.k12.ca.us Students need to
get an application from the front office, and
submit the completed application to Angela
Marshall, secretary, to to see if they will
qualify. The first opportunity to apply is after
1st semester grades are released. Membership in
CSF on your college application looks good

- Courses taken in 9th grade are used as Subject
Requirements - (and must be C or above for academic
classes-each semester) - but the GPA from 9th grade is not factored into
your academic GPA - 12th grade marks determine final acceptance
30College Entrance Exams
- PSAT- (Practice SAT) taken the 3rd Saturday in
October of your junior year. Offered only once
per year. - SAT-taken during junior or senior year. Divided
into 3 sections 1) critical reading, 2) math and
3) writing. - SAT Subject Tests- Only the UC universities and
some private colleges require the subject tests.
The CSU do not require these. Normally taken at
the end of the junior year, or when you have
completed a specific subject. It is designed to
measure knowledge in that specific subject.
- ACT- accepted at all colleges universities in
the US. Divided into 4 sections English, Math,
Reading comprehension Science. There is an
optional Writing Test. Includes a career
inventory and extensive feedback which can be
helpful in choosing a college major.

- Due date- by November 13th Friday

- Pink flyer in packet. This homework provides
your son/daughter with an opportunity to gain
insight into potential good-match careers,
according to their likes, values or goals. They
will also be receiving homework points from their
history teachers for turning in this homework.
All they need to print is the results page
which lists potential career matches and make
sure they have put their names on it. This is
turned in to the Career Center by the date posted
above.
