6How long does it take?
The Submission Involves 1200 dimensions 1700
mathematical operations 1000 statutory
checking 5000 data input Require 2 weeks to
complete a step by step calculation any change
in layout will affect the calculation
significantly Takes another 1 week in average
for every amendment submission
7Automatic Area Calculation Approved Submission
8Automatic Gross Floor Area (GFA) Calculation
Define GFA
9Automatic GFA Calculation Define Building Height
and Class of Site
10Automatic GFA Calculation Auto-Generated GFA
Summary
11Automatic GFA Calculation Dedicate part of G/F
area to the public
12Automatic GFA Calculation GFA Summary
Auto-updated

23What is the difference?
Efficiency 2 weeks vs 1 day Consistency
update automatically according to any change in
layout, minimize error and mistakes
24Automatic Bills of Quantity
25Automatic Bills of Quantity 3D Model
26Automatic Bills of Quantity Material assigned
according to specification
27A project-based specification can be extracted
automatically from a master specification
28The Bills of Quantity can be generated
automatically
29Difficulties in Implementing BIM
- Learning BIM is not easy, if you miss your dead
line because of using BIM you will definitely not
want to use it any more. - Many drafting staffs are not used to draw 3
dimensionally - Solutions?
- Dont go 3D in the beginning, simply use BIM for
2D plan first as it is easy to learn and is still
more efficient than traditional drafting tools. - When time is saved ask your colleagues to learn
more in a step by step approach, let them have
the 3D sense gradually.
