Seismic reflection data interpretation using
Kingdom Suite

• Today you will be getting a taste of seismic data
  interpretation using Kingdom Suite
• Two types of interpretation
• Structural analysis study of reflector geometry
• Stratigraphic analysis study of reflection
  sequences (lithologically distinct depositional
  sequences).
• Today we will be examining a series of 2-D lines
  and attempting to correlate between them using
  ties.
• We will be examining a set of seismic lines
  collected in the western Woodlark Basin of Papua
  New Guinea using a 5 km streamer. The survey was
  carried out as a site survey for a series of
  drill holes (drilled in 1998). All of the data is
  migrated.

Some Basics

Above are some common seismic sequences we will
see some of these in todays exercises. Today we
will be interpreting both horizons and faults.
When doing this it is important to pick a
constant phase ie the same part of the seismic
waveform. We will be examining the seismic
sequences/relationship in a single seismic line
and checking out interpretation using ties. Now
start Kingdom Suite.
