Recent Situation

• Activity level dropped due to low level of
  attendance
• Merit Funding adversely affected the Section
  finances and activities
• Chair and several SOEB members retired from the
  board
• Leaving only 4 active members

  Treasurer, Secretary) to be conducted at a
  General Meeting (possibly in March)

• This is almost impossible in the UK
• Student (UG) activities are the territory of the
  IMechE
• Graduate student population consists mainly of
  international students
• There is a potential for recruitment

  under the current structure
• ASME HQ is open for suggestions
• Do we need a new approach in Sections, in DH for
  student section organisation
