  reported.

CEN/TC 387 Standard for Food Composition Data

• Standardisation aspects
• The standard shall provide structure and
  semantics of data.
• The standard shall provide encoding of data for
  data exchange.
• The standard shall be based on the existence of
  controlled vocabularies defined in the standard
  or by other bodies.
• The standard shall provide several levels of
  interoperability through flexibility in selection
  of food description system, food component sets
  and other controlled vocabularies.
• Data must be able to include references to
  information linked to foods, food components, and
  methods.
