- Incidents of violence and aggression appeared to
be very low it is still an area of risk that must

elements that may contribute to the risk of

and encourage reporting of incidents. - Should not be viewed by staff as part and parcel

- Risk assessments for slips and trips appeared to
be present throughout. - Risks appeared to be dealt with straight away in
most cases

- Many of the sites visited had developed local
procedures to meet the requirements of the Policy
- No longer anyone within department with specific
responsibility in relation to health and safety. - Strong team ethic within both cleaning and
catering staff - Rec 54 - Provide sufficient training for the
staff within cleaning to ensure that the methods
they are using are up to date. - Rec 55 - Develop spillage procedures for the
different areas of cleaning and catering (control
exposure to hazardous substances and to reduce
the risk of slipping).

throughout the Directorate
