• Holocaust refers to the destruction of over 10
  million Europeans (mainly Jews) during 1933-1945.
  Originated from religious Ceremonies (burnt
  offerings).
• Antisemitism The hatred of Jews and Judaism.

• Aryan race a pure Germanic race, typified by
  height, blond hair, and blue eyes (Note not
  Hitlers description!) Nazis felt it was the
  superior race.
• Arbeit Macht Frei a sign at Auschwitz, meaning
  work will set you free.

• The Final Solution The plan devised to speed up
  the killing of Jews and other undesirables. A
  more efficient system of gas chambers and
  crematories used to kill thousands each day.

• SS(Schutz staffel) Defense command est. in
  1929--considered an elite group. Originally they
  were Hitlers body guards, trained in brutality
  they were later in charge of the concentration
  camps.
