11WCHS Scheduling Basics
- Each class at WCHS is rated with a predefined
amount of Credit Hours - Most 1 period classes are worth 0.5 credit
hours - Most 2 period classes are worth 1.0 credit
hours the exception is P.E. -
12Additional Keys for Scheduling
- There are eight periods of class time in each
semester. If you choose a one-credit course, it
will take up two periods of time. - A one-half credit course will take up one class
period. If you want a study hall each semester,
this will count for two periods in your total. - Please choose classes to make up sixteen periods
of class time.
13More Keys for Scheduling
- Be sure to check prerequisites for classes.
- If you do not have the prerequisite for an honors
course, we will move you to the regular. - In many of the classes you need at least a C to
move to the next level. Make sure you are
earning this grade if you are signing up for a
higher level course. Again, final grades will be
checked before you are scheduled for classes. - If you have received below a C in a course, you
may want to repeat the class to get a higher
grade. We will post the grade on your transcript
from the second time you took the course. (NOT
the higher grade!)
