Title: The Need for Evangelism

1
The Need for Evangelism
2
Introduction
  • The gospel Greek euaggelion as is the good
news of salvation made possible through Jesus
    Christ our Savior.
  • An evangelist Greek euaggelistes as is a
    bringer/proclaimer of good news.
  • The work of preaching is communicated through the
Greek verb euaggelizo, a compound of eu good
and aggelos a messenger, angel, meaning to
    announce good news 2097.

3
Accusation and Defense
  • Modern liberalism repudiates the gospel as bad
news, contending Christianity and the Bible are
sources of misery, suffering, and woe.
  • Nevertheless, the truth of God stands. The Gospel
of Jesus Christ is, indeed, good news. In this
lesson, let us consider mans universal need,
Gods universal provision, and our universal
    responsibility.

4
Universal Need
  • All have sinned (Ecclesiastes 720 Romans
    39-23 Galatians 322).
  • All will die (Genesis 319 Ecclesiastes 92-6
    Romans 512).
  • All will be judged (Acts 1730-31 2 Corinthians
    510-11 Revelation 2011-15).

5
Universal Provision
  • Christ died for all (Isaiah 534-6 2 Corinthians
    514-15 1 Timothy 23-7).
  • The Gospel must be preached to all (Matthew
    2818-20 Mark 1615-16 Luke 2444-49).

6
Universal Responsibility
  • Sinners must obey the gospel (Ezekiel 1830-32
    Acts 237-42 2 Thessalonians 13-12).
  • Saints must teach sinners (Mark 67-13 1
    Corinthians 919-23 2 Timothy 21-7).

7
Conclusion
  • Let us obey the gospel and devote our lives to
    faithful service (2 Peter 38-18).
  • Let us emulate the example of Philip the
evangelist, who faithfully took advantage of
opportunities for service and teaching (Acts
    62-7 84-8, 12-13, 25, 35-40 218-9).
