3A Biblical Mandate for Contextual Evangelism
- For as I went through the city and looked
carefully at the objects of your worship, I found
among them an altar with the inscription, To an
unknown god. What therefore you worship as
unknown, this I proclaim to you (Acts 1723).

6NCD - Contextual Evangelism
- Key Question Is the form and content of
evangelical outreach related to the needs of
those you are trying to reach? - Healthy churches are characterized by the way
they share the gospel, so that it is culturally
relevant, respectful, and comprehensive in
meeting the needs, utilizing the gifts, and
addressing the life questions of the un-churched. - Unlike "manipulative programs this
"need-oriented/asset-based" approach uses
appropriate ministries and authentic
relationships to guide others into the life of
the church and community. - Contextual Evangelism is always intensely
relational!
7So WHO IS my Neighbor?

18Contextual Evangelism
- Is sharing the gospel in a way that meets the
needs of the church homeless and addresses their
life questions and key concerns. - Is entering into the life journey of those who
are not yet a part of a community of faith. - Is equipping disciples to share their faith in
the arenas of life outside the church wherever
they are called to serve work, home, school,
social and civic settings
