• Began in San Francisco, CA
• First Earth Day was celebrated on March 21, 1970
• Now celebrated either on the first day of spring
  or on April 22nd of every year

• Limit car use by walking or riding your bike to
  school, or carpool
• Dont litter!
• Keep our oceans clean
• Write a letter to the state describing how you
  wish to limit pollution

• Reduce the amount of things we use and the amount
  of things we throw away
• Fix things and re-use them, rather than throwing
  them out
• Recycle materials that are recyclable, by
  separating out plastic, bottles, and recyclable
  paper from other garbage
