RUMOR All Computer Science jobs are going
offshore Outsourced to India, China,
Philippines, etc.
6
  • FACT
  • Forrester Research, Inc. estimates that only 4
of all Information Technology (IT) jobs were
outsourced in 2004. This will grow to only 9 by
    2010.
  • The jobs that are being outsourced typically
involve low level skills (data entry, data
analysis) or repetitive tasks (writing yet
    another hospital records system).
  • Purdue University Computer Science graduates do
neither low level nor repetitive tasks. They
    design innovative systems, create operating
    system security mechanisms, design new
    programming environments, create new wireless
    protocols, etc.
