Carbonation takes place in the saturator where
the already blended and deaerated mineral water,
or soft drinks is saturated with carbon dioxide
(CO2), and is subsequently conveyed via a buffer
tank to the bottling machine. Because CO2
consumption is relatively high, gas loss must be
monitored continually over the entire CO2 line.
