Location and Desciption
Location and Description

• The Terra Cotta Warriors were made to protect
  the emperor during his afterlife. Emperor Shi
  Huang wanted to be the emperor so he took over
  all of China.

Culture Data

• Qin became the emperor in 221 BCE. He had many
  enemies so he wanted to be protected. He wanted
  to live forever. He wanted the warriors placed on
  the one side that was not protected. The two
  other sides had Mount Li and a river.

Significant Artifacts

• There are 4 pits of Terra Cotta Army. They are
  still excavating pit one because it is the
  biggest. Pit 2,3, and 4 have all been excavated.
  Archaeologists assume there are over 7,000
  figures total in the pit.

Occupational History

• The warriors were finished up two years after
  Emperor Qins death. They filled in the pits with
  dirt and put a wooden roof over the top of the
  pits. Many years later raiders came and burned
  the roof that was covering the warriors. People
  still knew about it but they didnt talk about it
  much. No one knows why the warriors were finally
  forgotten.
